| Lions Weekly: November 3, 2021 | A Note From Mr. Sandefur Lion Family, I hope that each of you is having a great week and are doing well. This week I have had the opportunity to attend the ACSI Flourishing School Institute in Orlando, Florida, with several of our leadership team members. This conference has allowed us to learn, discuss new ideas, and plan as a group to establish and maintain a flourishing culture and community. It has been a very fruitful time for our team and colleagues from across the nation, and we look forward to sharing with our school community in the days ahead. As we enter the month of November, it is customary for many of us to focus on giving thanks. As I have reflected lately, I am continually thankful for our school community. The students, parents, faculty, and staff that make up our school community are a true blessing. I am incredibly grateful for the freedom to participate in faith-based education and to do so within this community. I would like to encourage you to make it a point to let members of our school community know how thankful for them you are throughout this month. In Christ Alone, Jeremy Sandefur President | Dress Out Spirit Day This Friday, November 5, celebrate our Lions in their playoff berth as they are playing “Out of this World”. Dress in your best space attire (Outer space, Space Jam, Neon, etc.). Cheer our Lions on to victory! Pep Rally Come join us on Friday at 2:20 p.m. for our Pep Rally on Huskey Field. Fill the stadium and bring the hype by cheering the Lions to victory! Tailgating Bring your lawn chairs, food, family and friends to fellowship and tailgate with us at 6:00 p.m. prior to the 7:00 p.m kickoff! | Varsity Football Congratulations to our Lions on their win over Notre Dame on Friday, October 29! This Friday night, TKA will host Grace Franklin in the first round of the TSSAA Division II-A Football Playoffs. We are excited to host a playoff game and want to see EVERYONE in the stands on Friday night! We want to pack the house and have our stadium rocking. Our home crowds have been awesome this season, and we don't expect anything less this week! Let's show up and give our guys a true home-field advantage! Because this is a TSSAA Playoff game, there are a few things that will be slightly different than a normal Friday night at TKA. ALL tickets will be sold via GoFan app and are $8. Tickets will NOT be sold at the gate. There will be no free admission or passes honored at the gate (except for players, cheerleaders, and band members). The only passes that will be honored are TSSAA ID Cards. Lastly, please note that kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. To purchase tickets for Friday's playoff game vs. Grace Franklin, please click here. | Veteran's Day We look forward to honoring those within our school community who are faithfully serving or has served our nation in the military. If you have a loved one who served in any branch of the military, please send a photo of them (including their name, branch, rank, time of service) to Mr. Blake Fuller (bfuller@thekingsacademy.net) by Tuesday, November 9th. If any of our parents, grandparents, or loved ones who served in the military would like to join us for chapel on Thursday, November 11th, we will have a brief time of honoring them within our chapel service. We are truly thankful for all who have fought for our freedoms. | ACSI Flourishing Schools Institute Members of our Leadership team (Mr. Sandefur, Mrs. Sullivan, Mr. Fuller, Mrs. Clifton and Ms. Campbell) attended the ACSI Flourishing Schools Institute in Orlando, Florida. Attendees were able to learn from national speakers and network with colleagues regarding the constructs that lead to flourishing Christian school communities. We are thankful to know that we are making some incredible achievements at TKA. We are also thankful to learn new and effective strategies for our school community. | Junior and Senior College Visit Trip Juniors and Seniors visited Carson Newman University (Jefferson City, TN) and The University of the Cumberlands (Williamsburg, KY) on the first day of the trip. Students visited Union University (Jackson, TN) and Tennessee Tech (Cookeville, TN) on day two. The final day of the JR/SR College Road trip ended with a visit to MTSU and the TKA football game vs. Notre Dame of Chattanooga. Our students covered a total of 976 miles and enjoyed fellowship throughout their visits. We are grateful for the participants of the first JR/SR College Road Trip and are looking forward to next year! | Festival At The Academy Thank you to all the donors, volunteers, vendors, and all who came out and supported the Festival at the Academy.
