Supporting Gifted/2e Families Worldwide

Have you ever been made to feel like "THAT Mom"? You know, the mom who brags about her kid? The mom other moms avoid, because they don't understand what you're going through?

Plenty of us at GHF and in the GHF community have felt that way. In fact, Tara Westfall tackles that very issue in her latest GHF Blog post.

Parents of, educators of, and professionals who work with neurotypical kids often have a difficult time relating to the extremes of gifted/2e parenting. That's why GHF was founded, and why we're still here, growing and reaching evermore families and professionals in the gifted/2e world. We reach hundreds of thousands of gifted/2e families through our social media. We provide in-person support and information at conferences internationally. Our entire GHF Press line of books is now available internationally. Our GHF Online classes reach kids throughout the world.

None of this would be possible without support from people like you! Your donations, supporting memberships, and affiliate purchases help fund our outreach, advocacy, and support.

GHF works hard to give you what you need to be informed and successful.

What's a "Blog Hop"?

Blog hops combine the unique perspectives of many bloggers on particular topic. Readers can easily go from one blogger to the next, learning new information, encountering different viewpoints, experiencing a variety of writing styles.

GHF's latest blog hop focuses on "Uniquely Gifted: The Different Areas of Giftedness." Giftedness manifests in a multitude of ways. Some children pick up a college-level physics textbook in elementary school. Others might start talking especially early or learn to read years before their peers. Still others might struggle academically, yet sing and act with a maturity beyond their age. Discover the range of ways giftedness can be seen, and learn how to support the unique needs of each child.

And keep an eye out for our next blog hop, "The Invisible Gifted Child: Mislabeled, Misdiagnosed, Unidentified and Misunderstood," coming November 13!

Eight Books to Help Calm Down During Anxious, Stressful Moments

We have all experienced the stress of the holidays. For 2e kids, the schedule upheaval, visiting family and friends, changing weather, gift expectations, and even the bright, and sometimes loud, holiday displays can all contribute to increased anxiety. GHF's Nikki Linn has put together a list of books for kids and adults to help alleviate the stress and create a calm, supportive environment: "Eight Books to Help Calm Down During Anxious, Stressful Moments."
