A Farewell and a Greeting Pastor Chad McKenna The new year brings a change to the St. Mark Staff. Read more. | O God, where hearts are fearful and constricted, grant courage and hope. Where anxiety is infectious and widening, grant peace and reassurance. Where impossibilities close every door and window, grant imagination and resistance. Where distrust twists our thinking, grant healing and illumination. Where spirits are daunted and weakened, grant soaring wings and strengthened dreams. All these things we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. from Evangelical Lutheran Worship p.76 | Home Communion Kits If you need to replenish your communion supplies, please stop by the church during office hours, Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. If you need to come by after these hours, please call the church office at 815-398-3557. Watch this short video from Pastor Chad or read more here. | Pledge Note: This past week, St. Mark members received a letter regarding our current stewardship drive, in the hope of closing a shortfall in our budget for 2021. Whether or not you have already submitted a 2021 Plan for Giving, your council and pastors encourage you to read that letter in full and consider again your commitment to our shared ministry. You can update your pledge online with this simple form. Click here. | Coats For Hope We are collecting gently used or new coats January 13-20th. Check your closet, maybe the kids have outgrown, or maybe you just no longer wear it... Please drop off coats at St. Mark between 9-1PM. Our goal is to collect “60” coats that will be donated to the Rockford Family Peace Center, YMCA, and the Rockford Rescue Mission. Check out coatsforhope.org | St. Mark Mobile App! If you are having trouble downloading or have any questions, please call Jill Davenport at 815-218-3403 or email jill@stmarklc.com, she will help you through the process. This is different than our church directory app. Our mobile app is designed specifically for St. Mark to improve our communication with our congregation and nurture our members. We encourage you to download the app. It's about getting involved and staying connected. Click on this link for information on how to download the app! | Keeping Our Mosaic Family Warm In the spirit of our annual Mitten Tree, we are once again collecting NEW hats, mittens/gloves, scarves, and socks for the men and women of Mosaic. All donations can be dropped off at the weekday entrance. There will be a plastic bin with a label on it outside the door. Mosaic recognizes that people with intellectual disabilities desire and deserve greater independence and closer ties to the community. By developing and expanding community connections, we create new social, volunteer and employment opportunities. Check out this website for more information on Mosaic, right here in Rockford. | Supporting Our Local Businesses To show support for our local restaurants we will be accepting donations of any amount to purchase gift cards for special meal nights in the Mosaic group homes or you may purchase gifts from the following local businesses we will be supporting with this donation: Beef-A-Roo, Johnn Pamcakes, Katie's Cup, Lino's, Lucha Cantina, Mary's Market and Sam's Pizza. There is a box inside the week-day entrance at St. Mark that is designated for the gift cards or money. Please ring the doorbell and we will let you inside to put the gift in the box.
