Dear Friends,
We have made it through another week and things are looking up.

So far, we are halfway to raising the $14,000 needed to cover the teacher back pay.

Since we have transitioned from the previous board Lindsey, Maria, and I have become overwhelmed with joy from the support that we have received from all of you.

Thank you.

Even though we are still engaged in transitioning GHF back into form, we are now starting to look to the future. We are attracting energy and enthusiasm from our members to engage in new ways. In time, we will have some great announcements on how we can improve all of our operations.

Our Facebook Discussion Group is growing daily and the GHF peer-to-peer support is in bloom. Please join us.

In today's message, we are featuring a generous donation challenge, an invitation to the free Bright and Quirky Child Summit, and a look at two of our GHF Press books.

Special Thank You

Special thank you this week goes to Celi Trépanier who is doing a wonderful job of engaging our blogging community and igniting our Facebook Page. Celi's passion and engagement are inspiring. Please like the Facebook page.

Thank you for everything,

Barry B. Gelston, M.Ed.
Board President
Interim Executive Director

Online G3
Smart Classes for Smart Kids
Guinevere’s Gifted Group (OnlineG3.com) offers interactive online classes in a range of junior high and high school subjects for gifted students who are seeking advanced coursework. G3 classes are grouped by skill level, rather than chronological age, to allow asynchronous learners to accelerate in individual subjects as needed. Unique assignment structures let students show what they know through various creative methods, allowing both proficient and emerging writers to succeed. Live peer interaction and discussion forums are woven into all classes to create a cohesive community of gifted learners.

Educating Your Gifted Child: How One Public School Teacher Embraced Homeschooling

Celi Trépanier of Crushing Tall Poppies

What would make a dedicated public school teacher decide to homeschool her own children? In her new book, Educating Your Gifted Child: How One Public School Teacher Embraced Homeschooling, Celi Trépanier (Crushing Tall Poppies) shares her journey from a top teacher in traditional schools to a disillusioned parent struggling to get an appropriate and challenging education for her gifted sons. How is the current educational system failing our gifted and twice-exceptional students? How can parents fight for the education their children need and deserve? What options do parents and their gifted children have? Celi addresses these concerns and more in Educating Your Gifted Child.
