We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray your week has been a blessed one. The weather in NE Ohio has been picture perfect in my eyes. Warmer days – cooler evenings – just right. My seedlings are coming right along. This weekend coming up will get everything planted in the garden. Of course, we will be putting a fence up because of our deer friends that like to come by for evening nibbles on the plants. Make sure you take time this weekend and reflect on those who gave their life so we can be free. Happy Memorial Day to all. We are so blessed – I am so thankful." "My WORD for this week is “PAUSE.” Honestly, I am not sure if God had given me this one before, but it bears repeating if He did. Lately it seems like I have been hearing so much of – he said or she said – she hurt me by her words – or he hurt me by his words. Boy, we all need to stop this – “pause” before we speak. We need to let the Holy Spirit check our hearts and minds before we say something that may cause hurt or pain. We are ALL God’s masterpieces, and we ALL deserve to be treated as such. We need to always practice the “pause” prior to any confrontation. We need to avoid drama at all costs. And while I am on a roll, we need to “pause” prior to involving others that will not benefit from any of it. Be very cautious of what can escape into the atmosphere so fast – before we even realize. We can never get our hurtful words back – so “pause.” Also be ready to forgive as well. This can sometimes be so hard but if we don’t – we won’t be forgiven. Don’t let the enemy of our mind tell us not to forgive or “pause” because in not doing it – we will be hurting ourselves. Now I know this word wasn’t all fun and fluffy, but I feel like this was the one I needed to share. “Pause” and reflect before we spew and damage. I hope your week will be blessed!" “Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So, throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life." ~ James 1:19-21 (MSG) ~~~ | Hospitality Ministry Are you looking for a way to serve at church? PLANTING!! It's time for the mad rush to get everything into the ground or a raised bed. Cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, and peppers have been our focus these last few days. Next week will still be full of planting, too, as we have much to grow for our CSA shares. Hopefully frosts are done and our plants are ready to spring into action, growing big and producing their beautiful fruits and veggies! We did take a few hours on Monday to do a service project for Keegan's "Grandma" Best. Our crew headed out Monday morning to help get her flower beds sorted. They worked hard weeding, mulching, and fixing stones then enjoyed a delicious lunch together on her spacious porch. GG firmly believes in shopping local and supporting small businesses so Rachel and Jen did some of that this week as well. If you walk the property, you will see plenty of growing things that were started by seed right here. But, you will also see plants that we purchased from other local growers, like our neighbors up the road, Windy Knoll Greenhouse. You really should visit.
