Sadly, on January 31st, the Court ruled that although the policies do infringe on the rights of religious freedom of the applicants, the violations were justified because of the importance of providing access to these services.
This is a disappointing decision. But the war is far from over and the Christian Medical and Dental Society is refusing to give up now!
CMDS is Asking for Our Help!
The Christian Medical and Dental Society is asking for our support in two ways.
1. Add your name:
First, CMDS is developing a database of supporters. Their goal is to gather the names of 100,000 people who want to help defend doctors from being forced to participate in assisted suicide. All you have to do is provide your name, e-mail address and postal code. (Those living in all provinces can sign.)
Please click here to add your name to the list of Canadians who support the freedom of religion and conscience of our doctors.
2. Send a (pre-written) letter - Ontario Residents:
The next step will be for Ontario residents to send a letter to the MPP candidates in your Ontario riding, once they are announced in a few weeks' time.
The letter (found here) asks candidates where they stand on:
▪ Legislative protection for healthcare professionals' conscience rights.
▪ Continued conscience protection for faith-based facilities.
▪ Improved access to quality palliative care.

Note: By signing up to the database in step 1, CMDS will notify you when the candidates in your riding are announced so that you can take part in step 2.
Doctors and nurses sign up for these jobs to help save lives. Will you take action to help protect them against being forced to end them?
God bless you for taking action today.
