In the past 2 years I've had 28 calls specifically for a custom fireplace finish. That's a lot! Why such demand?

Fireplaces are one of the greatest focal points of any space. They have an alluring effect with their snap, crackle, pop, creating an instant gathering place. Scientific research shows fireplaces have a calming effect, actually lowering the blood pressure of those around. After all, who doesn't see a fireplace as irresistible, cozy and relaxing? They touch our senses, the sense of heat and comfort, the orange flickering flames are mesmerizing, the smell of wood spice and smoke and the crackling are nostalgic for most.

Why have a fireplace?

Fact: Because of their popularity, fireplaces can boost a home's value by 12%. Twelve percent! Wow, sign me up! Seen as a luxury item, even if you don't use one regularly, the dollar and cents (sense too) are there, especially if you ever decide to sell.
