For 29 years, the Annual Head Start & EHS Home-Based Institute, brought to you by the National Home Visitor Resource Center and T/TAS, has been a favorite of Head Start programs nationwide. Each year, the Home-Based Institute ushers in the start of autumn, and this year we are back in wonderful Gatlinburg,Tennessee!

The Annual Head Start & EHS Home-Based Institute, September 26-27, 2018 is a unique training event designed for new and veteran home visitors and other staff working in programs using the home-based model for delivery of Head Start or Early Head Start services.

The Institute also welcomes those programs and staff who are interested in learning more about the Head Start home-based option or who are considering a home-based model as a temporary option. New home visitors and those who would like a review or refresher course may also wish to attend the Head Start & EHS Home-Based Pre-Institute on September 25, 2018.

The National Home Visitor Resource Center and T/TAS have continued incorporating school readiness goals into workshops as appropriate.

For those attending the Pre-Institute, you can choose from two concurrent pre-sessions that provide a chance to spend a full day on one topic:

▪ Session One: Home-Based Services: An Introduction/Orientation and Review is a comprehensive, intensive orientation to the home-based program option that will be of benefit for all new home visitors and to home visitors who would like a review or refresher course.
▪ Session Two: Ensuring Quality Programming for Expectant Families in EHS will provide an in-depth look at methods and techniques in working with pregnant mothers and the rest of their Head Start family.
