Greetings from Ancient Wisdom HQ... OMG.. it's been an insanely busy week, so much to do and not enough hours to do it..

Last week I was introducing the concept and some of the thinking and details behind the Agnes + Cat brand, you can read about it here.
Just before you ask me, I have no idea who the heck Agnes is and there is I'm told absolutely no cat.. but I can tell you there is a beautiful range of naturally artisan products with a lovely British countryside feel.

Meanwhile the containers have been rolling in, another from Bali and another from China this week.
It's like all the hard work in those far off lands is coming home to land. If you are a regular reader of this newsletter you will have followed me to India, Indonesia and China and been involved in the back story to some of the products arriving.

The Bath Bomb display stands I have been working on for months, finally arrived. Pretty much a full container of them.
So... back in November last year I had been there with our long term supplier, a lovely lady boss called Widya, trying to make a bath bomb display stand - without any actual bath bombs. OK I had the measurements and but you know there is a lot that can go wrong between a tape measure in Europe and one in Asia, and the pitch of the shelfs had to be just so to display correctly. Plus shipping companies in the UK have maximum dimensions per carton, so we had to make a stand that would separate in two and fit in two cartons (also specially made). After much tweaking and several failed prototypes, we finally got a working display. The blackboard top made to flap down for shipping, a dogleg split between the second and third shelves, enabling quick reassembly. Great, we finally nailed it and we ordered enough to fill a forty foot container

I was happy, the lady boss was ecstatic and she set on a team of workers to get making the things in three colours. The wood is albasia, it is strong enough and not heavy, and importantly fully sustainable in Indonesia. On top of this albasia is plentiful and cheap, so these stands work out at a very reasonable price, cheap enough - this was the plan - to give you totally free with a Bath Bomb starter. Amazing no?

Everyone is happy... you get a free stand and sell more bath bombs than ever before (a great display will boost sales for sure), we get more repeat business, you get more sales and our friend Mrs Widya in Bali is happily working with her team on the next container load.
Let me just be clear, it's not Chippendale quality, these are rustic you could say, but they look great full of bath bombs, and every retailer that see's them wants them.

Anyway so the shipment came, I was there.. ripping open the first carton that came off the container.. putting the stand together, and loading it up with Bath Bombs. Imagine the embarrassment if our bathbombs just didn't fit! I can tell you I was sweating a bit as we loaded it and jumping up and down with delight to see I had gotten my maths spot on, a perfect fit all round. What a relief.

Meanwhile my time here is almost up, next stop Spain, then later to visit our Slovakia operations.
