While prejudices seethe and violence looms across the globe, cities flood, a president scoffs, and our age knows new threats from biases and microbes once thought long conquered.

While we ask “what can I do,” music has always been our refuge and inspiration.

In our struggle to make the world a better place, music welcomes us with open arms and offers shelter from the storm. Music reminds us of both our common humanity and the heights we can achieve when the human spirit unites in the service of creation rather than destruction.

As a house is built by many bricks, as an orchestra is built by every player, our concert series is sustained by many lovers of music and history. We hope you will join us into our next decade as we continue to view history through the prism of music and do our small part to help enlighten our corner of the future.
