Want to volunteer in the Garden and/or with the Sprouts and
Nursery age kids? We would love to have you jump on board! Talk to Jen L. for more information.

Youth Group

For youth in 5th grade & up

Last Sunday, we got so deeply involved in our activities that I completely forgot to take any pictures! We discussed regular thirst vs. spiritual thirst and delved into the story of the woman at the well. These young people see and know more than we often give them credit for. We also laughed our way through the game of Scattergories and played a high-energy flashlight game. The bulletin board in the stairway hall is in the process of being updated to share some thoughts about Youth Group from the youth. Check it out!
See you this Sunday at 6pm! Snack: Tyler Gane

Happy Birthday, Morgan!

This was a Whispering Pines week, so we spent Monday morning working there. We sorted mountains of decorations to get prepared for the Christmas decorating that will happen soon.

After volunteering, Monday continued to be full of fun. Rex came out to help with getting our fields ship-shape for next year. We worked on tilling and adding nutrients into the soil so all is ready for spring sprouts. We also enjoyed celebrating our friend Morgan's 39th birthday with fresh brownies made by Beth Kufleitner. It was definitely a fabulous Monday!

Tuesday's lunch was an old favorite, teriyaki chicken with rice and a side of edamame. As always, our cooks worked hard, had fun, and did a fantastic job! The rest of our crew worked on tree clearing and other outside tasks. Outdoor autumn jobs continued throughout the week, along with jam making, stuffing catnip toys, and more. Everyone definitely earned their two day vacation that is coming up next week!

These smiling faces say "Thanks!"

Why support Goodness Grows?

Goodness Grows, the mission of CGCC, helps grow goodness, right here on our property. We work daily with clients in our vocational habilitation program, providing training in a wide array of life skills. Staff and clients work all around the building and property, helping to keep things running, volunteer in the community, donate to food pantries, and more. In the fall and spring, area schools use Goodness Grows as a job site, learning all sorts of skills. All proceeds from fundraisers, like Friendsgiving, go right back into our programs, to keep our mission operating. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, Goodness Grows is always looking for creative and fun ways like this to raise money to fund our programs.

Wondering how we earn money through a Friendsgiving fundraiser?

Proceeds will go toward Goodness Grows' programs with students and adults with disabilities. We will earn 10% on total sales, $1 from each signature drink, and all funds raised through the sale of pie slices, raffle tickets, and our GG products. Diletto's wine will be available for carryout. As you might imagine, every dollar helps! On the Rocks is donating their time and talent to make this fundraiser a success! We so appreciate all these generous folks, and all the attendees, who are giving their resources, talents, and time!! We sure hope to see you on November 27 for a great evening!!! 6-9pm at Diletto Winery, Market St., Boardman!

OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Youth Group Christmas Project ~ Toy Drive for ACH

A gift of toys, games, or activity supplies can make a big difference to children and families spending time in the hospital. Children can learn and find comfort in play while dealing with the big emotions of being in the hospital. Games and toys foster a playful atmosphere, which has the ability to bring smiles to the faces of children and adults alike. Donating a wish list item to our Christmas Toy Drive is one way to bring cheer to a sick child’s day. Akron Children's Hospital is always in need of toys, craft supplies, and other items throughout the year for children from infancy through age 18. Grab a wish list in the Great Room or click HERE to view it online. Drop items off at the donation table anytime through December 15.

You can’t imagine the difference your gift can make to a hospitalized child & their family.

Ongoing Outreach/Mission Opportunity

Coat & Clothing & More Drive
Keep saving all your clothing and outerwear items for next year's giveaway. Tell your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers that we will accept donations all year! Clothes for all ages and sizes needed, along with coats, bags, purses, shoes, housewares, books, toys...whatever you think might help someone in need. Drop items off in the collection barrel or take them up to the Green Room.

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
