AGM SWAP 2017

Masters Recreational Coaches Needed

Our wonderful Masters Recreational program has been coached for many years by an excellent team of coaches. Some of these coaches are unavailable or are coaching less this year. We need to welcome some new coaches for succession to keep the program going strong. This is a great group to coach - the skiers are very keen, enthusiastic and very appreciative of the coaches. We have had many recreational athlete alumni become coaches. There are coach training courses coming up, check info in this newsletter.

Contact Marilyn for further information on how you could get involved.

Board Member Opportunities

2017-09-20 10 58 07-News Cross Country BC

...update for our category for this year: Hollyburn continues to lead, but Sea to Sky has leapfrogged both Nickel Plate and Snow Valley for second place. And both Cariboo and Strathcona have appeared on the scene. Can Strathcona repeat its 11th hour magic and impressive growth from last year?

Last year we won this contest and gave away many of our prizes at the banquet at the end of the season. Some more prizes, including Bliz Visors, wax kits and feet warmers, will be given away at the AGM this year. Attend the AGM to get an entry into the prize giveaway.

Also...for anyone who registers as a Strathcona Membership by the earlybird deadline of November 30th will be entered in a draw for a cross country ski jacket and pants.

and more...there will a full membership draw for a pair of Salomon Skin Skis. Date to be determined.

For a look at this years possible prizes, click here. Let's get registered and spread the word. Zone 4 is open for this year's registration.

*New Loppet Date*

Traditionally we have held our loppet as the final club activity at the end of the ski season. The board has decided to try something new this year to take advantage of the potentially colder weather and better snow and trail conditions instead of our usually slushy spring snow. We have moved the loppet date to February 11th. This does mean we will have to get on our loppet training sooner! Everything else will be the same. Stay tuned as the year progresses for more details.
