Adam's Big News

Adam’s last day preaching here is on Christmas Eve. Starting this month, Adam will preach monthly at North Lima Mennonite Church. In September, he will become a part time pastor at there, working on ordination, while continuing to work for Wycliffe Bible Translators. We thank Adam and his family for being a part of our church family and wish them well on their new adventures! All of us at Common Ground have been blessed by their friendship, kindness, and clear example of Christ's light in the world. Thank you, Shank family, for being part of our church family. You will always be in our prayers.

To stay connected and receive updates on the Shanks and their ministry with Wycliffe Bible Translators, check out this page from the Wycliffe site: Adam & Bonnie Shank.

Monday was full of excitement. We volunteered at Whispering Pines, dropped all the donations off at Akron Children's Hospital, and went grocery shopping. It was a day full of holiday spirit!

The rest of the week has been equally festive and fun-filled. Tuesday brought our cooking day with Sue. We all enjoyed chicken fajitas, salsa and chips, and rice. We will miss our Tuesday lunches over this holiday break! Kelly came to visit on Wednesday, which brightened everyone's week. It is always a joy to have a special visitor like our Miss Kelly! We will end the week with a Christmas party on Friday to celebrate the season. Then, we will be on break until January 2, 2020. Come see us in the new year!

If you are still Christmas shopping, we have plenty of jam for your gift giving needs!

Youth Group Christmas Project

Thank you for your amazing support of our Akron Children's Toy Drive! We dropped off the many boxes and bags on Monday morning. Your donations will, in part, be used to brighten the Christmas morning of all the children who must wake up that day in the hospital. Each child will awaken to find wrapped packages waiting just for them!

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
Christmas Bird Count
Hosted by Columbiana County Park District
Are you a birder? Or do you feed the birds? If so, please help on December 21 and December 28 with the annual Christmas bird count sponsored by the Audubon Society.
The idea is simple: we count all of the birds we see during a one-day span in a designated circle.
On December 21, we will count the birds in a circle that is centered in Beaver Creek State Park; the December 28 count is in a circle situated in Salem. Those two circles encompass a large swath of the county.
If you're interested in participating, either in the field or at your feeder, call 330-268-1128.
