School News!!!
We are very excited to begin our new school year with your very eager to learn students and the great, hard working staff at Holy Rosary! We would like to welcome our new and returning teachers who will be joining HRHS this year; Mr. Luke Trainor, Miss Rita Malek, Miss Skye Ferguson, Miss Alyssa Dopko, Miss Iris Hicks, Mr. Brad Hauber, Mrs. Sonda Pearn, Father Michael Bombak, Ms. Dione Hudon and Ms. Nadine Riehl. We would also like to welcome new and returning Educational Assistants who will be joining HRHS this year; Ms. Jody Harty, Ms. Stacey Graham-Bishara and Mrs. Michelle Endicott. Welcome to all, we are very happy to add your skills and talents to Holy Rosary as we service the needs of our students and families.

Just a few of the projects HRHS will be working on this year is the continued enhancement of our communication with families. Holy Rosary is now on Facebook almost daily. Please follow us to receive the most up to date information. Also follow our Athletic teams on the HRHS Raiders Facebook page.

If there is any way we can better meet the needs of our students, staff or families, just let us know! We love to talk learning and cherish each conversation as an opportunity to learn. May God bless our school community, as we begin a new school year!

Picture Day is........Thursday, September 6th
Make it simple by ordering your portraits online using your Picture Day ID (QI088379Q0) and child's first name to get started. If you prefer to order on paper, we will be sending an order form home as well.

School Fees -
Fee invoices will go out to all students in Period 5 during the week of October 1st - 5th.
As per AP 302 - General school fees are due by October 31st. Second semester fees are due no later than February 15. Athletic fees must be paid in full prior to the first game/event of the season. Fees for special events, field trips, and merchandise must be paid prior to the event or release of the merchandise.
Fee payments can be dropped off at the office between 8 am and 4 pm. Please return invoice with cash or cheque (payable to LRCSSD # 89). Debit and credit is available at the office for school fees payment only. There is also the option of going online to https://lcsd.ca/shop and paying there.

Holy Rosary High School

Welcome Back BBQ
Nervous about the first day of school at Holy Rosary?
No worries!
A very special opportunity for students and parents new to Holy Rosary. On Tuesday, August 28th from 11:15 am to 12:00, students and parents are invited to a special Welcome to HRHS Session. Students will meet their Advisory (homeroom) teacher in their classrooms and receive their lockers and timetables. You can put your belongings in your locker, walk around the school to find your classes, meet the staff and administration of Holy Rosary. Senior students from the Student Leadership Council will be there to assist and answer questions.

Dress Code
Any student who is found to be in violation of the dress code will be asked to change their clothes (if available at school), parents may be asked to bring a change of clothes to the school, or if appropriate, the student may be able to go home and change clothes.

1. Short skirts, dresses and any immodest clothing are not acceptable. As a guideline, when standing with arms straight down by your side short, skirt and dress lengths must be below the fingertips.
2. Pants will be secured at the waist/hips. Wearing pants below waistline exposing undergarments is not allowed.
3. Bare midriffs or blouses that are too short will not be worn. The length must meet the pants.
4. Blouses or tops which reveal excessive cleavage or exposed backs are not acceptable.
5. Spiked and/or sharp jewelry is not allowed. Wallet chains cannot extend beyond the knee.
6. Clothing that is obviously offensive (racist, sexually discriminating/explicit, swearing, etc.) or clothing that advertises tobacco, alcohol or drugs will not be worn.
7. Hats and headwear are prohibited. Hats and headwear are allowed at school on sanctioned “Hat days”, in which case they must also adhere to rule 5 and 6.

Bussing
You can access bus information following these steps:

2. School bus updates or Latest School bus schedules, Parent Portal,
3. Fill in the security questions (no more ID number) We are still working on routes so times and bus numbers are subject to change until August 28, 2018. Please review you childs bussing again after August 28 for final routes and times.

Please remember that students must be outside and at their stops 5-7 minutes early. The first week buses tend to run a little off schedule please be patient.

Review your current bus registrations, if you have any questions please contact me by phone or email. If your bussing needs updating please do an online registration. All our routes are set up to accommodate neighborhoods and not individual students so children are going to have to walk to their stops, please ensure they know their way to and from their stop.

Office Closure
HRHS will be closed from 8:00 -11:00 am on Friday Aug 31st, for Staff Division Mass at St Anthony's. Thank you for your patience.

Timetable

Students should review the timetable to ensure the core subjects are included. Electives
may not match student requests as we are unable to guarantee these classes.
Students may meet with Mr. Steuart in accordance with the
schedule below should they wish to review their timetable. Typically, we do
not review timetables with Grade 8 and 9 students as the schedules are
standard and class sections have been balanced.
All students must have their timetable set and ready to go prior to the
first day of school on Tuesday, September 4.

Tuesday, August 28
9:00 am - 12:00 pm Grade 12 students, last name ending in A through H
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Grade 12 students, last name ending in I through Z

Wednesday, August 29

Complimentary student transcripts are no longer issued by the SK Ministry of Education. Should you require a transcript, you must order it at the following link. For your convenience, your SK Learning Identification Number is included on page 1 of your report card.
