Raised on a diet of Jazz and 80s pop, British Jazz Singer Beverley Beirne has combined the two with her latest freewheeling, stylistically expansive new album and project Jazz Just Wants To Have Fun which she is set to tour with this Autumn. Singing with an honest and heartfelt, deep-soul sensuality and scatting with abandon in places that would do Ella proud, she swings both lightning fast and seductively slow on clever and stylish re-imaginings of perfectly chosen 70s and 80s hits.
JJWTHF was produced by the Grammy winning producer Jason Miles, whose many credits include (Miles Davis, Luther Vandross, Diana Krall, Aretha Franklin, Marcus Miller). The album was released on Nova/Universal and the launch was celebrated at the famed Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club Upstairs last year, where none other than Noddy Holder was in the audience listening to Beverley’s version of his song ‘Come On Feel The Noise.’ As well as receiving 4 ** reviews and features worldwide, Jazz Just Wants To Have Fun has been played on radio worldwide, including BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio London, Jazz FM, London Jazz Radio, LA Radio, Louch Life and many more and was also considered for Grammy Nominations this year.
