Sales of life insurance surged in the last quarter (2016 Q4) as Canadians rushed to get their policies grandfathered before the less favourable 2017 rules took effect. Sales roughly doubled at Manulife and Sun Life.
How will 2017 compare? The heightened awareness of the tax advantages of life insurance seems to be helping maintain some of the momentum.
