Marian Smiling in lab coat v1

8 years after 1st day of filming ... and finally, Now This!

What an amazing journey this has been!

We began making this film to celebrate Dr. Diamond’s teaching and scientific breakthroughs. Soon enough, we realized that this film would represent her legacy, that even after she was no longer teaching she would still be teaching on tape forever. That the “Diamond Effect” , the thrilling feeling of engaged learning about yourself/your Brain/your relationship to the world, which could be seen so readily on the faces of people after her lectures, could continue to be created forever by Dr Diamond on screen.

What a powerful validation of that legacy this nomination is.

Dr. Diamond and her husband Arnie would be so pleased.

PBS broadcast complete, Upcoming Broadcasts in Canada, Singapore, Poland, Sweden, Portugal.

We gave PBS the right to air the film for a two year period which has now come to a close. We will be looking for additional broadcast venues in the US. Suggestions? Email us.

Meanwhile, our international sales agent is busy finding territories around the world where they care about brains. For example ... Air Canada. Many emails from happy fliers who (at long last) had a movie of substance to watch while they fly. We even got a favorable review from Air Canada customer Heather Weaver, who is our video on-line editor and color timer, who did such a great job helping to get the film to look just right. So we asked her how it looked on the airplane. She shrugged. “Good ... Compressed. About what you’d expect”

Available with French close captions everywhere

One of the benefits of all these international screenings is that we now have a French subtitled version. Thanks to the Americans with disabilities act, educational institutions across the United States are now required to have English closed captioning. One benefit to us as filmmakers is that the subtitling and close captioning Technology has blossomed and it is easier than ever to take subtitles in one language and make that available across platforms and screening or streaming venues.

How great is that?
