Hello Blubrry Friends!

Summer is wrapping up and while we are sad to see our two interns head back to school, we’re excited about what we’re bringing to you this fall. You’ll see some new features coming to existing services and we’ll be getting started on several other advancements. For a recap on what we’ve been working on, read more from our July newsletter.

PowerPress Sites Deluxe Themes

If you’re using a PowerPress Sites Deluxe, check out the new themes available. Last week we added eight additional themes that you can start using now. In total there are 14 themes to choose from for your podcast website. Multiple team members gave their input and recommended some of their favorites, so we hope that you enjoy the new spread. You can find them by following the instructions below:
1. Log in to your Deluxe WordPress website.
2. Select Appearance on the left-hand side of the page, select Themes.
3. Review the previews for each theme, choose and Save.

If you have a favorite plugin that is not included currently in PowerPress Sites Deluxe, send us a support ticket with information and we will check it out.

Craziness Surrounding SoundCloud

There are a number of podcasters who have been given a reprieve as SoundCloud received an emergency injection of investor cash to keep it afloat. Since launching in 2005, we have been witness to more than one podcasting service that has pulled the plug. It’s not pretty and never good for the space as a whole.

For those of you who jumped ship we know it might be a big change. Getting to know a new platform can be discombobulating and those of you new to Blubrry and WordPress may need some help -- we’re here for you. This is an important opportunity, as many of you are now starting to build a brand around a site of your own for the first time. If there is a topic you want covered in our blog or just need some advice, let us know. The way we look at it is you have graduated your podcast to be exactly that, versus just another page buried on a hosting site. We’ll keep this topic in mind in the upcoming episode of Your Podcast hosted by Mike and Todd.

Todd's Corner

The biggest podcasting event of the year starts next week in Anaheim. For us, attending Podcast Movement is like a family reunion so please be sure to stop and say hello if we don’t get to you first. I will be there Tuesday morning through Friday evening so there’s plenty of time to grab me for a chat.

The podcasting space is going through massive growth with the number of new shows being launched at an all-time high. With this influx we are happy to be helping folks get their sites launched. Our PowerPress Sites Basic (included with hosting) and Deluxe packages are getting these new podcasters off on the best possible foot.

This is helping us dramatically reduce the number of shows that podfade. We appreciate it when you promote Blubrry as an affiliate or just because you love our tools. Some 85,000 podcasters use one or more of our services and we appreciate your ongoing support.
