Fall 2017 Vincent Family Update

Craig Such a Great Salvation

In addition to his responsibilities as Executive Director, Craig served as Streamside's Bible teacher this summer. It was a privilege to teach both summer team members and campers the doctrine of salvation. We used simple terms to explore the theological concepts of reconciliation (getting along again), substitution (put in place of), propitiation (turning away of wrath) redemption (set free by payment) and dominion (absolute control). Illustrations using popular comic book characters made the study fun and memorable.

Through the teaching of God's Word, the work of the Holy Spirit, a team dedicated to prayer and the tender care of our excellent counseling team, we had an excellent summer with 120 meaningful spiritual decisions. In addition to our 281 traditional campers that came through 20 collaborating ministries, 13 teens completed our Service & Leadership Training program. Prior to summer camp, we had a record setting 98 attend family camp to learn about Grace-based parenting from our friends at Family Life. The summer concluded with 32 alumni ranging from age 16 to infinity attending a retreat over Labor Day Weekend that focused on what a follower of Jesus looks like in time & space. During that event we also buried our 75th Anniversary time capsule filled with items provided by our summer campers. We have left instructions for it to be dug up at our 100th Anniversary in 2042. Someone will need to remind me.

Streamside bear stands ready to welcome campers and retreat groups

We are finishing our 8th year of ministry at Streamside. It has been a significant challenge to keep the ministry effective and sustainable, but we are still standing strong and looking to the future with optimistic faith.

Stand with us in welcoming campers and retreat groups to Streamside. Regular support of our ministry at Streamside is still needed. You can stand with us in this ministry by giving on-line at https://bcm21697.thankyou4caring.org/streamside or by mail to BCM International, 201 Granite Run Drive, Suite 260, Lancaster, PA 17601. Checks should be made out to BCM International and designated to Craig Vincent support (#16191).

Craig with groom

Randy & Karena Vincent were married on June 17, 2017 in a beautiful and emotional ceremony at Vincent Mennonite Church. The new bride and groom are now located in East Norriton, PA where Karena teaches kindergarten at Penn Christian Academy and Randy is a cashier at Weis Markets. They found an apartment within walking distance of both their jobs and only 15 minutes away from Dylon & Renee.

Still the Best Bride

As Streamside continues to celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we look forward to our next event. Streamside will be the presenting sponsor for Thriving's Frequency Conference's Friday night session featuring speaker and multi-cultural church pastor, Bryon Loritts. It will be followed by a Christian hip hop concert with Sho Baraka. Tickets for the event are free with conference registration and only $10 for the public. A free reception for Streamside will take place prior to the event and we will be sharing a testimony and showing our video during the event. Thriving is an urban ministry collaborative that systematically responds to the need for sound theological training, character development and practical application among urban church planters.
