| Lions Weekly: May 24, 2023 | A Note From Mr. Sandefur Lion Family, It is finished, well almost! We are blessed to be standing near the finish line of the 2022-23 academic year. We have been incredibly blessed throughout this year as many milestones have been achieved by our students, faculty, and staff. As we spend the next two half-days celebrating our students, let us continue to keep our eyes on Christ and all that He has done. As we head into the summer, I want to let you know that we will be taking the month of June off in terms of sending out the Lions Weekly. You will begin receiving them again in July as we prepare for a new and exciting year. That said, you will still be receiving updates throughout the summer regarding new members of our academic team, events, and much more. As I conclude, let me say thank you to each and every one of you. Thank you for your loving support of our TKA faculty and staff. Thank you for your partnership that allows us to offer an academically rigorous, biblically based education for your students. Thank you for your prayers as we head into the break and begin preparations for moving forward to another year that the Lord has in store for us. Thank you and may God abundantly bless you this summer! Jeremy Sandefur President/Head of School | Summer Lions Weekly This week will be the last Lions Weekly email until July. Keep an eye out for emails updates throughout the summer regarding new members of our academic team, events, and much more. We hope you have an amazing summer! | TKA Elementary Families, As we are reaching the finish line of this school year, I would like to share with you how grateful I am to have the opportunity to serve your child and your family. Your partnership and support is most certainly appreciated and one of our biggest blessings. It is because of your partnership, our phenomenal educators, and hard-working students that we have continued to see success in closing the learning gaps along with huge academic growth in all areas. This is evident with our Summative Standardized IOWA testing results. In elementary, we strive for National Blue Ribbon (NBR) Status, meaning to be at the top 85% or higher in the nation based on standardized testing results in Math, Reading, and Language. We achieved and exceeded the NBR cut scores in the majority of these subjects across all grade levels assessed. This speaks volumes of the level of education being delivered at TKA. Our entire elementary team contributes daily to this success along with your partnership! I am extremely proud of our students and teachers. Great Job, Lions! I wanted to share this awesome report with our families prior to summer vacation. Parents, I encourage you to continue their learning this summer by reading together and reviewing math facts. Thank you again for the opportunity to love your child, educate your child, and most importantly to share God's truth with your child. Please enjoy a wonderful summer. We look forward to starting another school year with you in August. May God richly bless you and keep you. In Christ, Kelly Sullivan, Elementary Principal | Athletics Communications As we are working to streamline communications within the athletic department, we will be using athletics@thekingsacademy.net for all athletic needs, questions, help, and communications. Instead of emailing, Coach Sellers, Coach Jones, or Cyndie, separately, this email will allow all athletic communications to go to one area. We appreciate your help in directing your emails to athletics@thekingsacademy.net as we are trying to make it easier to reach our athletic department by simplifying the avenue for communications to one email. We are looking forward to all God is going to do in TKA's Athletic Department in the upcoming season! It is an exciting time, with summer approaching and the end of the school year. We have received great reports of all our athletes working with us and achieving outstanding results in their sport and achieving starting positions and winning tournament honors. We have celebrated much success, and we want to keep it going over the summer. This summer, we are inviting student-athletes in middle school to join our developmental program. While they have access to our training site, we will be leading 3 days at TKA each week from 6pm-7pm followed by our adult boot camp class. Our classes will focus on sprinting mechanics, explosive movements, and character development. We’re in the business of building top-notch athletes, and that includes character. The students will also be able to join our test days so we can measure and work to ensure they are consistently progressing. If you are looking for private training, we will be providing that through the summer and would encourage you to take advantage of our Memorial Day sale that ends 6/01! ● 10 sessions - $40/session ● 15 sessions- $37.50/session ● 20 sessions - $35/session As always, we look forward to supporting your athletes in their journey of achieving greatness. All visitors for elementary must enter the front door of the Ogle Building in order to receive a visitor's pass. This pass should be visible at all times so that TKA faculty and staff know that you have checked in at the office. Our doors are open to visitors, but please call ahead of time to schedule conferences with your child’s teachers. This will prevent interruptions to instruction and the loss of the valuable learning time of our students. Adults will not be allowed to wander the halls of the building or hold conferences with teachers during instructional times. TKA family lunch visitors should follow the above procedure. Lunch tickets are $5 each. Students who are not enrolled at TKA are not permitted to visit TKA students during the school day, which includes lunch. This policy has been developed in order to help maintain a safe and instruction focused environment at school each day. Any visitor who does not meet these expectations may be asked to leave school grounds. | | |
