Education from keiki to kūpuna, for motorists & cyclists.

Nov. 19th Keiki to Kūpuna Family Fun Day

Come out to Old Stadium Park on 11/19 (Sat.) from 9-11am for family-fun games and activities for all ages, including arts & crafts, Japanese aerobic dance, and a free Fix-a-Flat workshop hosted by your friends at Hawaii Bicycling League! Blue Zones Project is putting together this great event and is encouraging folks to bring nonperishable food donations for their on-site food drive.

BONUS: McCully Bicycle & Sporting Goods will be giving out gift cards to the first 12 individuals who register for the 9:30-11am Fix-a-Flat workshop. Register for this helpful workshop today!

Ready… Set… Trikes are Back!

We are thrilled to announce the relaunch of the three-wheeled trike rides for kūpuna. Now named “HBL’s Golden Gears” triking program, we provide seniors the ability to be active, have fun, explore outside, and socialize while getting some healthy exercise by reserving a recumbent tricycle to ride along the Pearl Harbor Bike Path. These Ride Instructor-led cruises give the opportunity for those in their golden years to experience the joys of cycling in a safe & car-free environment, and enjoy the ride from a laid back (& comfortable!) perspective.

Action Alert: Comfortable Streets For All

Traffic noise creates an unpleasant street environment for those not enclosed in a vehicle. Studies show it also increases depression, anxiety, poor work performance, and diseases. The more comfortable the street environment, the more likely people will walk and bike to get around, benefiting you and your community! Send a message to your representatives to help make our streets comfortable for everyone. HBL.org/comfortable-streets-campaign
