HOW IMPORTANT IS VACCINATION CHOICE TO YOUR FAMILY?
This is worth taking a deep breath and a moment to consider.
How can we expect political and other leaders to carry the torch on this issue when many of us can't discuss this topic with our friends and family?
There are multi-billions of dollars worth of entwined special interests moving many dozens of bills across the country looking to take away the right to informed consent. The mainstream press is gearing up again for the annual "too many parents are taking exemptions" polemic (i.e., today's NYT op-ed "how the anti-vaxxers are winning").
Now imagine if we had sold out events like the one in Red Bank occurring across the country?
In November 2017, NJ will be electing a new governor. Maybe your state has important elections coming up, too.
I can think of no better insurance policy for protecting our exemptions than showing politicians that thousands of people are gathering to get educated on this issue and advocate for choice.
Let's abandon the warring posture. War is about destruction. Let's focus on creating the future. What if we instead invested in educating our communities by offering calm, respectful, intelligent, compassionate conversation? I firmly believe that the rest would take care of itself.
