We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray your week has been blessed beyond measure. So many things everyday to be thankful for. Waking up and taking a breath in, for starters. There are always challenges as well but with God at the helm – we are victorious!" "Our winter has been mild in the northeast compared to other years. I am thankful for that. I pray wherever this finds you – your winter has been just as mild. The other day instead of having gray skies, we had bright sunshine. Made all things better in every way!" "My WORD for this week came from something my friend Diane shared on Facebook, (see picture) - “EQUIPPED.” Now, when I saw this picture, God immediately said to me – how many times do we “try” to fix things our way – instead of using what I have “equipped” you with? Ouch! Good thing this isn’t in person or I imagine all of us would be raising our hands to this one. We are “equipped” with His Word that has ALL the answers but how many times do we reach out for something else first? Now don’t get me wrong, there are many resources and ways to handle and figure out things but first let us go to the author and finisher of our faith. He has “equipped” us with His precious love to share with others with the same grace and mercy He has shown us. He has “equipped” us with the Holy Spirit that is our comforter in times when we don’t know where to turn. He has “equipped” us with just the right measure of faith we need to put into action. We have everything we need, if we first seek the Master. Let’s make sure our equipment bag is full of God – everything else will fit nicely alongside if we are “equipped” with Him. Have a blessed week and let everything fall into place His way." "Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. This week, we have organized in the warehouse, making sure things were stored safely in bins. We have also been focusing on the upcoming planting and growing season. Much time has been spent looking through catalogs and making lists to finalize our seed orders and to plan for new tools and equipment we need to make this CSA year the best yet. This warm weather has us raring to get into the gardens! When we weren't planning and day dreaming, we were busy with a variety of tasks that included processing dried herbs and baking bread. Once again the aromas drifting through the building have been irresistible! Like many non-profit organizations, we had some disappointing news from Amazon on Wednesday. Over the years, we have benefited greatly from their AmazonSmile Foundation. This program donated 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible items directly to the customer's selected charity. It was a perfect opportunity for GG, helping to bring in needed funds to pay our clients and keep our programs running. Unfortunately, Amazon announced they, "plan to wind down AmazonSmile by February 20, 2023. To help charities that have been a part of the AmazonSmile program with this transition, we will be providing them with a one-time donation equivalent to three months of what they earned in 2022 through the program, and they will also be able to accrue additional donations until the program officially closes in February. Once AmazonSmile closes, charities will still be able to seek support from Amazon customers by creating their own wish lists." Many of you had selected Goodness Grows as your charity to receive donations every time you placed an Amazon order so we wanted to make you aware of this upcoming end to the program. We thank you for honoring GG by choosing us as your charity. We rejoiced every time we received our AmazonSmile funds and we appreciate all of you! | Jungle Jam & Juicy Jam Available at Reach for the STARS in Salem, in Columbiana at both Harbel's Market and the Chamber of Commerce, and here at GG.
