Artist talk with DeWitt Godfrey

Simple rules give rise to extraordinary complexity. Inspired by natural geometries and systems– plant spores, seashells, honeycombs– DeWitt Godfrey employs unique processes of packing and stacking conical and cylindrical Corten steel forms. At this intimate talk and Q&A, the artist will discuss his practice and vision for Stuk in Riverside Park and answer questions from the community.

Wednesday, August 18th, 6:30pm

Virtual Artist Talk with Joshua Goode

Fascinated by deliberate historical manipulations, Joshua Goode researches and develops a satirical history in an effort to expose the malleability of our past, present and future. His fantastical history and mythology reimagines the detritus of his rustic, working class youth as iconic ancient artifacts.
Registrants will receive a zoom link 24 hours before the event begins.

Four Currents

Artist Talk with Wendy Letven

Four Currents was conceived as a convergence of the energies of its location in Riverside Park: the powerful flow of the river, the urban surroundings, the radiant energy of the sun, and the wind that bends the trees. She worked together with her partner, Gary Fredriksen to create a work that harmonizes with the environment that surrounds it. At this event, Wendy Letven hosts an artist talk, Q&A and interactive workshop at the site of the sculpture.

Saturday, August 28, 2pm
83rd St on the Waterfront
