Dear friend of Wonderfest,

The rescheduled (from Sep 8) presentation of Fear of a Black Universe is set for Friday afternoon, September 24th. This time without fail, Wonderfest and the Commonwealth Club present Brown University physicist Stephon Alexander in discussion of his new book, Fear of a Black Universe: An Outsider's Guide to the Future of Physics. The book examines the outer limits of physics, and it calls on us to diversify the scientific community. Discount code WONDERFEST will grant admission-free access to this livestream interview.

Next Monday evening September 27th, Wonderfest presents Decoding the Blueprints of Life with Synthetic Biology & Physics as a free in-person event at HopMonk Tavern in Novato. Our speaker is Jonathan Liu, physicist and computational biologist at Chan-Zuckerberg Biohub. Dr. Liu will explore approaches to understanding the many gene sequences whose functions in our genomes remain mysterious.

Wondrous regards,

Tucker Hiatt, Founding Director

P.S. Two videos based on recent Mt Tam Astronomy online talks are ready for viewing: Oumuamua: Interstellar Visitor and Unveiling the Dark Universe with the Dark Energy Survey. Big THANKS to Dr. Thomas Mittiga, Wonderfest Science Envoy, for editing these fascinating flicks.
