Woo-hoo--it's composting season! Have you taken a look in your compost bin yet? Nutrient-rich compost should have sifted down to the bottom of your compost bin, and can now be used in your landscaping projects. Accessing the compost is easy. Here's a link to harvesting compost from the bin we recommend, the New Age Composter. Don't feel like doing it yourself? Read on and find out about our renewal program for Dirty Boys Customers!

If you want composting help this year, and you were a Dirty Boys Composting customer last year, you may be interested in our Already Composting Service for Renewing Customers. As a returning customer we know that your compost bin is in pretty good shape because we kept an eye on it. Renewing customers receive:

(1) Compost pile sifting & screening. We'll dump out the contents of the bin, set aside useable compost for your gardening projects, and put unfinished matter back in the bin.

(1) Compost pile resuscitation & remediation. We'll make adjustments to your pile to ensure you have the right balance of carbon:nitrogen ingredients, aerate the pile; and adjust its moisture.

(1) Red wiggler worm restocking (if needed). Despite the cold temperatures this winter, your worms should still be alive. They survive by either heading towards the warmer bin core or going under ground.

(1) Additional compost pile check up. We'll come back 2 - 3 weeks after the initial compost pile resuscitation to make sure the pile is heating up, amend the bin if needed, and report on our findings.

On call composting consultation. As always, we'll be on hand to answer any questions you have during the composting season.

You can order the Already Composting Service for Renewing Customers by visiting our online store or sending an email to grant@dirtyboyscomposting.com. We'll follow up to schedule your appointment.

Dirty Boys Composting can get your compost pile up and running in no time, and help make you a successful composter. Whether you're completely new to composting, or have previously tried and weren't satisfied with your results, we'll help you get the most out of your own backyard compost pile with the least amount of effort. You can learn more about our services at www.dirtyboyscomposting.com, order on-line, or drop us an email!

George Howell Coffee Company & Starbucks will be providing Dirty Boys Customers with coffee grounds as the primary nitrogen source for compost piles. As Dirty Boys has grown it has become more difficult to secure a reliable, 100% organic source of grass clippings, so we've decided to migrate towards coffee grounds. Additionally, George Howell has provided us with coffee chaff for piles (a carbon source), as well as jute bags for compost/leaf storage or for your landscaping projects. Just let us know if you'd like some of the bags!

In order to cover our rising costs related to the growth of our business, we have made the difficult decision to increase our prices so we can remain in business. We believe our services continue to provide value beyond their price tag, and hope you do, too!

Sincerely,
