Hi Member,

How often do you forget the milk? And any number of other tasks?

If you're similar to me with multiple lists, family events and life in general to organise - the answer is probably a lot!

Which is why I'm pretty excited to have discovered 'Remember the Milk' an online to do list that I've been using all this week. It's simple, easy to use and FREE (and I get to tick boxes and cross things off when completed!) You can read more in the blog post below.

Also this week we have the first 2 posts from Dr Jen Davis (European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia) from her series of posts: The Veterinary Anaesthetic Machine Made Simple.

You'll also find information about the VNCA's Scholarship Fund; some tips on how to retain staff; and 7 Life Hacks to Achieve Zen (although I'd be pretty Zen if I could get my 'To Do' List competed!)

There's also an interesting range of other resources I found during the week...

Our aim is to help you - save time, connect & discover!

Enjoy your reading :)

Judy

7 life hacks to achieve Zen (dvm360)

By Kathryn Primm DVM

Most of us are probably looking for some balance in our lives. If 7 changes in your life are too many to get your head around, why not focus on one or two and build from there?

1. Separate yourself
Make an effort to keep the "work" you apart from the "other" you by setting some firm boundaries.

2. It's OK to say no
It's just not possible to achieve it all & we all have different amounts of things we can manage so don't compare yourself to others.

3. Organise and plan ahead
During work time be as effective as you can possible be by being organised and planning. Make the most of spare 5 minutes here and there and you'll be surprised at what you can achieve.

4. Let technology work for you, not against you
Save the personal social media and gaming for your "other time" and make the most of apps and technology to help you plan your work time.

5. Financial success can take time
It's rare for success to come overnight - especially in the veterinary industry! But that doesn't mean you're not on the path to success.

6. Have some fun
There's lots of things you can do that doesn't cost much money - look online and see what's on offer locally.

7. Eat right and exercise
It might sound boring and just all-too-hard but regular exercise helps improve sleep quality and brain chemistry.
