Fazela-Haniff-ACEI-Consulting

Fazela Haniff

Fazela Haniff immigrated to Canada in 1974 from Guyana, lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for plus 2 years, then to South Africa from 1994 to 2012 and returned to Canada in 2012. Through a Diversity and Inclusion Lens, Fazela is an HR, OD and HE internationalization specialist. Fazela completed her Human Resources Management studies at Ryerson University, Higher Education Management from the University of the Witwatersrand and Bachelor of Business Administration from Yorkville University. She is the Past President of the International Education Association of South Africa and first woman president. In 2010 she received an award in recognition of “Exemplary Leadership as IEASA President”. She has contributed widely to the internationalization dialogue via presentations and workshops to IIE, NIEA, NAFSA, EAIE, EAIE, IEASA, APAIE, and contributed to numerous publications related to international higher education. Fazela currently lives in Toronto, Canada.

Kathleen Hylen

Kathleen Hylen's passion for Diversity and Inclusion began as a young girl growing up in a very multi-cultural Cambridge, MA. Her formal career began as an undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Cruz studying Community Studies with a focus on Anti-Bias. She completed her field-study with the National Conference for Community and Justice (then the National Conference of Christians and Jews) and wrote an addendum to their anti-bias curriculum, Green Circle Goes Home. Later, in 2003 she served in the Peace Corps in Moldova as an English teacher, after which she worked in international education management with ELS Education Centers for 14 years. Never one to do things chronologically, in 2017 Kathleen began her master’s program as a Peace Corps Fellow at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in International Education Management with an emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion. Kathleen speaks intermediate Italian, French, and Romanian but is fluent in Francoitalromanish.

Jasmin Saidi-Kuehnert

Jasmin Saidi-Kuehnert is the founder, President and CEO of Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, Inc. (ACEI) and is recognized as an authority on world education systems and is actively engaged in international educational and exchange. She is a published author, speaker and educator. Jasmin served as Chair of the Admission-Section (ADSEC) Committee of NAFSA (National Association of Foreign Student Advisors: Association of International Educators) from 1999 to 2001 and was instrumental in the drafting and implementation of The Guide in Selecting a Foreign Credentials Evaluation Service. She was Chair of NAFSA’s Region XII Southern District committee from 1996 to 1999, and served on the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers’ (AACRAO) Publication and Reviews Committee from 1990-1993.

Laura Sippel

Laura Sippel President, Laura Sippel Dynamic Consulting, has more than 25 years of experience in marketing in higher education. She is an expert in social media marketing, identifying trends, setting marketing strategies, providing client relations, and building partnerships to this unique audience.

She has served on several committees and has presented webinars and conference sessions pertaining to international education and higher education NAFSA V Team Member (2000-2016), Recipient of NAFSA V Award of Excellence 2007, NAFSA V Conference Co-Chair 2009, Wisconsin Association of International Education (WAIE) Conference Planner 2017, AACRAO Annual Meeting Session on International Student Recruitment, (2017, 2018) Member of the AACRAO Data Protection and Privacy Taskforce (2018 – present), Director of Marketing and Communications for The Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc.
