GHFO Fall 2015 Registration is Open!

We at GHFO are thrilled about the fall 2015 semester! We’ve upgraded to a much more robust technology platform with additional features, and developed an all-in-one registration system to simplify the process. This fall, we’re offering new courses, some favorites from previous years, and some that build on past courses, all taught by a line-up of instructors who know their subjects and really get gifted/2e kids. Classes will be capped at 10 students, leaving your child with plenty of opportunities for engagement with the instructor and fellow students. Once courses fill up, we’ll open waitlists in case a space or two become available.

Students will learn at the pace that suits them, in an environment filled with acceptance. Come shine with GHFO! Read more!

Working Together! When Visions Entwine

GHF Online offers small, engaging classes for gifted and twice-exceptional students who thrive with advanced, interdisciplinary content without being overwhelmed with workload demands. We know that each student has different needs, interests, and learning preferences, and not every class or schedule will work for every student.

One of the many benefits of homeschooling is trying new learning environments until you find what works. Sometimes that means pairing two or more providers to get a balanced learning plan. Working together, GHF Online, Online G3, and Mr. Gelston’s One Room Schoolhouse offer just such a balance.

GHF Online focuses on a small program with highly specialized classes which appeal to the creative, active, and enthusiastic learner. If a class you want doesn't have seat availability or our program doesn’t offer something that fits your needs, consider our e-learning partners at Online G3 for core classes and Mr. Gelston's One Room Schoolhouse for online math tutoring and the new Collaboratory Zone for teens.

Mother s Day

Mother's Day and GHF

Cultures have celebrated Mother’s Day from the days of the ancient Greeks honoring Rhea, the mother of the gods, to the 1600s when England celebrated “Mothering Sunday” on the fourth Sunday of Lent. In the 19th century United States, Julia Ward Howe led the petition for a dedicated Mother’s Day, hoping for it to be a day of peace. Her version of the day was not widely embraced, but in 1914, the second Sunday in May was officially established as “Mother’s Day” in the U.S. to honor mothers for the sacrifices they made for their children.
