Sandefur Famiy Picture

A Note From Mr. Sandefur

Lion Family,

As you spend time preparing for the start of school tomorrow, I want you to know that you and your family have been and will continue to be in our prayers. I pray that this academic year is impactful for each and every family that has partnered with us in this educational journey. I am asking the Lord to go before us and to prepare us for how He intends to move in the lives of our children.

As you can imagine, the next two days will require us all to be patient (primarily in drop-off and pick-up) as we work together to ensure that school gets off to a great start. I want to encourage our returning families to seek out new members of our school community and to greet them and assist in the process as they become acquainted with our daily routines.

Finally, I want to express, on behalf of our leadership team, our genuine gratitude for your trust and partnership. We strive daily to offer the best possible education in as safe and nurturing an environment as possible. We recognize that without your collaboration, our efforts would be in vain. I cherish your prayers for our teachers, staff, coaches, and administrators as they pour into our students daily moving forward.

In Christ Alone,

Jeremy Sandefur
President

Residence Life Student Sponsor

PTF is looking for families who would be willing to sponsor and support a residence life student throughout the year!

Many of our residence life students are far away from home and their families. We are looking for local TKA families to partner with our residence life students by spending quality time with them and helping each student feel seen.

Students move-in dates are July 30th and 31st. We are planning to have laundry baskets full of goodies waiting for each student. To ensure each basket is similar we are asking for a $50 donation from each sponsor family. In the baskets we plan to include a TKA polo (students typically need uniforms), TKA cup, and other treats. These will be waiting for them when they arrive.

This is a small commitment that makes a huge impact on our residence life students. Our prayer is for relationships to form with families at TKA and for our students see the love of Christ throughout the school year.

Sports Medicine Instagram Post

Sports Medicine Student Aid

The King's Academy Sports Medicine Program, under the guidance of Ortho Tennessee, is looking for a few dedicated student aids to help our athletic trainer with some of the day-to-day activities surrounding our sports teams. Interested students would need to have an interest in the healthcare field, be in good academic standing, and display a servant's heart as found in 1 Peter 4:10.

This fun and exciting opportunity will allow students to learn firsthand about sports first aid and CPR. Plus, they will have an opportunity to become part of the TKA Lions athletic culture.

Service learning hours may apply. Students would need to be available for 7th-period athletics and after-school practices, as well as some games.

For more information, please contact our Athletic Training coordinator at 865-254-6147 or stop by the Athletic Training room in Stokely Gym.

Visitor Policy

TKA Visitor Policy

In order to help maintain a safe and instructionally based learning environment for our students, all visitors for middle and high school must enter through the front door of the Anderson Building and sign in in the middle/high school office in order to receive a visitor's pass. All visitors for elementary must enter the front door of the Ogle Building in order to receive a visitor's pass. This pass should be visible at all times so that TKA faculty and staff know that you have checked in at the office.

Our doors are open to visitors, but please call ahead of time to schedule conferences with your child’s teachers. This will prevent interruptions to instruction and the loss of the valuable learning time of our students. Adults will not be allowed to wander the halls of the building or hold conferences with teachers during instructional times.

TKA family lunch visitors should follow the above procedure. Lunch tickets are $5 each.

Students who are not enrolled at TKA are not permitted to visit TKA students during the school day, which includes lunch.

This policy has been developed in order to help maintain a safe and instruction focused environment at school each day. Any visitor who does not meet these expectations may be asked to leave school grounds.
