The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority released its 2017 Draft QAP and 2017 Draft Mandatory Design Standards on Friday, September 16th. See www.housingnm.org/developers/low-income-housing-tax-credits-lihtc. Written comments on the drafts are due by 5:00 pm on October 7th and verbal comments may be made at a public hearing on Sept. 28th at the NM MFA Board Room, 344 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, from 10:30 am to noon.

NMBEA: The Legislative Finance Committee Sunset/Sunrise Subcommittee will meet on Tuesday, September 27th, in State Capitol Room 322. The Meeting starts at 9:00 am and the Sunset/Sunrise Process and consideration of the Board of Examiners for Architects renewal as a state agency is scheduled at 10:00 am.

AIA New Mexico Questionnaire

We received nearly 100 responses to our member questionnaire (over 20% of members). We received a ton of good information and will send out results in a later email. However, what we heard loud and clear is that what you want most from AIA New Mexico is advocacy on the state level. Therefore, we are hosting our first advocacy event this fall in preparation for the 60-day session beginning in January 2017.

SAVE THE DATE – FRIDAY AFTERNOON – DECEMBER 9TH

AIA NM will present its first AIA NM Grassroots Seminar – meeting locations in Las Cruces, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque. A full program and details on CEUs will be announced in the coming weeks. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about and be prepared for 2017 and the new year of advocacy at the state and federal level.
