Encouragement From Darla Smith

"Been a busy week and it seems like they just zip by anymore. You know the old saying…the older we get...the faster it goes. Enjoy life and all the blessings God has for us – do not let one day pass us by without being thankful and grateful! There is an old song that goes – “He’s done so much for me; I cannot tell it all” so much truth to that!"

"My WORD for this week is “STORY.” So, what is your “story?” We all have one. Be it good, bad, or even some ugly mixed in. We are all human and have situations that come up in our lives that we sometimes cannot help or sometimes we may cause. My husband and I love watching “The Chosen” and in all the episodes, Jesus teaches everyone with a “story” or parable or example. Well let me just say – if Jesus does it – then I am pretty sure it is a good way for us to reach out to others as well. Don’t you agree? Every one of our “stories” is different and will touch someone in one way or another. Something in our “story” we share with someone may not mean as much to another. But there will be something that we share in our “story” with someone that will touch them so deeply and may change their life forever. Don’t you want to be a part of that? I sure do! When we get to the point where our lives overflow with gratitude and our desire to exalt His Name above all else – we will tell others our “story.” Is Jesus the best thing that has ever happened to us? Then we need to tell someone and share our “story.” I am excited to share and hear how our “story” will make a difference! Are you ready? Let’s talk!"

The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” So the people came streaming from the village to see him. ~ John 4:28-30 New Living Translation

It's that amazing time of year when things start growing like crazy. Check out that beautiful watermelon up above! It's so exciting to watch the plants really take off and start producing beautiful fruits and veggies.

We came back from our 4th of July break ready to work. We've been busy in the gardens and spent time in the woods (note the bee heading straight for the camera in the woods photo). It's zucchini season, so we have been in the kitchen making fresh zucchini bread. Yum! We've even had an exercise class with Bethany from Fitness For All, which is always a good time.

On Saturday, we hope you head to Youngstown and check out the fabulous Youngstown Flea. Make sure you stop by the GG table to have a visit with GG board president, Kitty Kromer! The Flea runs from 9am-3pm.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.

Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
