Harvest Greetings!

Each season has its own uniqueness to appreciate and celebrate. The cooler days, changing colors of the landscape, and gardens heavy with ripe produce mark the season of autumn. We are readying ourselves for the long cold winter that lies ahead...and yet is necessary in order for the circle of life to flourish. As fiber artists we begin to feel more anxious to sit down at our spinning wheels, get a new project on the loom, or pick up our needles and start knitting to stay warm and cozy as the cold approaches. If you are feeling ready to settle in for some good fiber time, I hope you'll consider joining me at an upcoming Fiber Garden event. The 2016 weaving classes have now been posted along with some other events. More to come! We KNOW how to "fiber"!

Thank you for your support these past months and welcome to all of the new fiber friends I have met at workshops and festivals recently. I hope to see many of you at the annual Fall Open House and Yarn Sale coming up October 3-4. I look forward to our continuing fiber adventures together!

Inviting Your Fiber Artwork

The Fiber Garden mercantile is making preparations for our annual Holiday Country Retreat which will run on Thanksgiving weekend and the first weekend in December. All Fiber Garden students are invited to bring/send your hand-crafted artwork to be offered for sale in the mercantile over the holidays.

Here are a few details. For more complete information please email Deb.
* The opportunity to sell items through the Fiber Garden is open to anyone who has taken a workshop at the Fiber Garden or who has attended a class taught by Deb at any venue...Sievers, WI Sheep & Wool Fest, etc.
* Mercantile advertising emphasizes that we are "your best source for unique stocking stuffers". In other words, I am looking for small, lower price-point items that will make good hostess gifts, teacher gifts, stocking stuffers, etc. Past sales data shows that we do not have the customer base to move large ticket items. I am happy to take a few larger items for sale, but please keep your primary focus on small pieces.
* Ideas for popular sale-able items include bookmarks, jewelry, small bags and totes, coasters, ornaments, etc. You do not need to limit your products to the fiber arts...if you have another art passion to share, please do!
* Items you'd like to offer for sale must be delivered or mailed to the Fiber Garden to arrive no later than Friday, November 20

I hope to have the opportunity to present your special art to Fiber Garden visitors this holiday season!
