Greetings from Bratislava airport, I'm on my way to Spain.
The last twelve days I have spent working at our new venture AWGifts the distribution arm of AW in Europe.

Last week I was telling you about eating frogs, not actually eating frogs - to be clear - it's a metaphor about getting things done, you can read about it here.
Although at least two people sent me angry emails rants about animal cruelty and demanded removing from the email list.
I could I suppose have written back pointing out that had they read a little more carefully, they would have found there is no actual frog or eating thereof going on, and AW remains committed to being an animal friendly company.
But I didn't.
I could have upset myself at being unjustly ranted at.. that's a normal reaction we all have.

But I decided not to.

I just removed them using the button at the bottom of the email (if you want removing just go click).
No one like to lose friends, (even those on your marketing lists) but friends, when it comes to friends.. quality is better than quantity.
Let's be clear - haters hate, ranters rave.. you can't waste your time trying to help them. It's the lovely people you want to work hard for, and isn't it better to be surrounded by people you can enjoy working with?

When people ask me what we do at AW, the answer is we supply beautiful things to lovely people, we are extremely fortunate to be in the gift business. Giving a gift is nothing less than an "act of love".
So we (the whole team at AW) put our hearts into finding or making or curating perfect gifts - little things that delight and express love.
And successful people in the gift trade are usually nice people, because how are you going to sell "acts of love" if your not.

Talking about nice people, I'm so delighted with our seed team of people in Slovakia.
Erika, Matej and Marek. Headed up by Tomas who you may know from AW HQ.
Erika used to be the manager at the local Holiday Inn, now she is managing us, she is bubbly, bursting with energy and itching to get going.
Matej used to be a professional tennis coach in New York city (he has the image) love brought him back home, now he is webmaster.
Marek who's claim to fame is working in Zimbabwe for a children's charity is another computer wizard but with warehouse qualifications and big dreams, for now he is warehouse manager.

All great guys, and our adventure together is just starting.
Hopefully lovely people selling lovely things to lovely people.
I'll be back here in a few weeks as we move to our launch day. Champagne is in the fridge.

Meanwhile back in Sheffield stock has been rolling in ahead of the Christmas (OMG - I used the "C" word in July) like crazy.. the warehouses are already bursting at the seams.
