England and Ireland Trip
I recently returned from my first trip overseas. I traveled with two of my sisters, my dad and step-mom to Ireland and England. It was wonderful!
I have nearly 1,000 photos on PhotoBucket that you are free to browse through. Here is the link: Ireland and England Photos

We flew overnight into London and stayed there our first day/night. I found it difficult to adjust to the time change and it took me day or two. The next morning we flew to Cork, Ireland where we rented a car, then drove to Glengarriff, Cork, Ireland where we rented a house for a week. Here’s a link to the house we rented: Glengarriff Cottage
You can click on More Images to see the interior of the house. It was wonderful and the owners were simply delightful!
We used Glengarriff as a hub for our daily tours to the Ring of Beara, the Ring of Kerry, Cobh, Bantry House, Kinsale, and to visit a distant cousin’s farmhouse in the Kerry countryside on the Beara Peninsula. We visited two stone circles in Ireland, and many castles and cathedrals. I can’t begin to tell you how lovely the area is. And the food was devine!
Next we took the train to Dublin. We stayed at a charming hotel and from there we visited Dublin and took a day-tour bus to the opposite side of Ireland—Galway! In Galway we saw Lynch Castle. After Galway we saw the Cliffs of Moher, then returned late that night to Dublin.
After another day in Dublin, seeing all the sites there, we flew back to London. Once there, one sister (Robin) and I remained in London while the rest of the family returned to the US. Robin and I took a bus tour to Stonehenge, Bath and Salisbury Cathedral (where we saw an original copy of the Magna Carta—which fascinated Robin and me, but we had to scramble to catch up with our tour).
We had another wonderful day in London, taking in as many of the sites as we could, then after two weeks away, we reluctantly and gladly returned home to the US. It was such a wonderful trip.
