Picnic Season @The Market Beet

It's picnic season, and this week The Market Beet will be featuring great side dishes for your picnic basket.
* Monday: Deviled Red Beet Eggs
* Tuesday: A Slaw and A Salad, and a Spiralizer!
* Wednesday: Moroccan Carrot Dip
* Thursday: Reader Recipe!!! Jam Cookie Bars using Mamyli' Jam!
* Friday: Guest Blogger Annmarie Cantrell from Cucina Verdewill share her recipe for Quinoa Spinach and Herb Salad.

All you need to do is find a few friends, grab a picnic blanket and a bottle of wine, and find a sweet spot in the shade!

Company's Coming

Make sure to stop by our visitors this Saturday. Cucina Verde will be stopping by with her delicious fermented krauts, kim chi, carrots and more. Fermented foods are good for you tummy - stop by for a taste! And Whiskey Hollow will be dropping by with everything maple syrup, including their maple mustard.

EBT Going Strong!

Quick update on EBT: we've been seeing more EBT uses taking advantage of being able to use their EBT cards for purchases at the farmers market. Last week we rolled out an incentive program funded by the Chester County Food Bank for purchases of produce.

Eat Ur Veggies!

Aldebaran Farm - This week come to our stand for arugula, baby red Russian kale, spicy salad mix, lettuce mix, and microgreens. Additionally, we will have summer squash/zucchini, cucumbers (pickling and slicing), carrots, beets, savoy cabbage, Napa cabbage, kohlrabi, Swiss chard, kale (curly and Toscano), parsley, scallions, and a small quantity of dill and edible dill flowers. ​​

Alnwyck Farm - This week I will run a sale on dragon tongue and amethyst snap beans, normally $3.00 this week $2.50. We will also have mushrooms (crimini, shitake and large portabella), green beans, zucchini (4 types), red beets, cucumbers, kohlrabi, broccoli, radish, cabbage, green peppers, cherry tomatoes, dandelion greens, tatsoi, dried herbs. I may have a limited amount sweet corn and potatoes this week. And, I'll have lettuce if it doesn't all bolt this week.
