UPDATED:

The next few days are critical as the Canadian government makes final decisions regarding the international abortion fund.

On March 2nd - this Thursday - Ministers and representatives from Canada will gather with other nations in Belgium to move forward on the international abortion fund. The "She Decides" Conference was planned within days of President Trump's decision to ban US foreign aid and taxpayer money from going toward abortion internationally.

Through taxes, Canadians who are conscientiously or morally opposed to abortion already fund 100,000 annual abortions taking place within Canada and send millions of dollars towards funding abortion internationally. Canada's participation in this fund will therefore be in addition to all this.

A CLASH OF "VALUES"

We recently came across this powerful clip where an African pro-life activist destroys the argument that poor countries need abortion, calling the push for abortion in these societies 'colonization.' Women in developing nations need medicine, water, and maternal health, not abortion.

This is in direct conflict with what Canada's new Minister of Women, Maryam Monsef said on abortion this week. According to Monsef, “reproductive health rights in Canada and around the world are critical to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls...We’re committed to making sure that women and girls have that choice, because otherwise, this is a form of gender-based violence.”

Canada has no place forcing abortion on developing nations but rather should be focusing on improving the health and livelihood of women so that they can safely mother their children.

CANADA'S CONTRIBUTION & WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Canada's Minister of International Development, Marie-Claude Bibeau, has made it clear that Canada will take part in the initiative called Global Fundraising Initiative She Decides.

However, we believe we can still influence this decision in these final days through our prayers and action, but we need your help.

We are urging every single one of you reading this to take action by doing the follow:

STEP 1: FAST AND PRAY;

We need God to move hearts and minds on this issue. Please pray that 1) our leaders hearts would change and they would not fund more abortions and 2) that many would rise up across Canada to contact our leaders and ask them not to fund abortion with tax payer dollars. Please also consider fasting for this important issue.

STEP 2: REVIEW THE 3 SIMPLE TALKING POINTS BELOW;

You recently heard that the Canadian government is looking to expand on their funding of abortion overseas
You do not support your tax dollars going to pay for abortion at home or overseas
Pregnant women in developing countries are in desperate need of medicine, clean water, and maternal health - not abortion.

STEP 3: TELEPHONE AND E-MAIL THREE OFFICES TO OPPOSE CANADA’S INVOLVEMENT IN THE ABORTION FUND; (Please do both. Phone one day and follow up with an e-mail the next.)

Please also take a moment to call her and let her know that you do not support the use of tax payer money to fund abortion in Canada.
