Updated Great Start Collaborative Mission and Vision

Over the last few months, members of the Kalamazoo County GSC have dedicated some time to evaluating and rethinking our mission and vision, as well as our operating guidelines. We are happy to share our mission and vision and will share the operating guidelines over the next few months. Please take a moment to look these over and see how they intersect with your work and passions.

Community Events

KPL

Kalamazoo Public Library is hosting many great events for families and for professionals. Please check out their website for further details. We are especially excited about the upcoming Youth Literature Seminar.

The Southwest Michigan Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative (SWMPQIC) is hosting a quality improvement training presented by the Michigan Public Health Institute Center for Healthy Communities on September 16th from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Van Buren Intermediate School District. The training is free, and light breakfast and full lunch will be provided. Space is limited so register now.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is hosting Community Conversations around the state to learn more about the successes and gaps in maternal and infant health. Please join the discussion here in Kalamazoo County on September 11. Dinner and childcare will be provided. We especially need to hear from families so please spread the word.

Great Start Collaborative Around Our Community

Please keep your eyes peeled across Kalamazoo County for Talking is Teaching events. We have already hosted three Talking Is Teaching parties at local grocery stores and given away 195 books to families!
