I normally love the 80's..

..I really do. You know, big hair, New Kids on the Block, jelly shoes.. the whole nine yards.

But one thing I don't love: Giant fluorescent light boxes, trimmed out in golden oak trim. I am pretty sure the builder in our neck of the woods got a GREAT deal on them because every house for miles seems to have one.

That is what mine looked like. (I can't even take a decent photo of it because the yellow glow through the old plastic diffuser panels is so awful!)

Well, a little bit of elbow grease and a whole lot of drywall mud.. and you need to see it now:
