Try This: Improve Your Comfort in Turning

Twisted Arms

Click on image to improve your turning

Our ability to turn is crucial to our safety, for instance when we walk or drive. Yet for many, neck discomfort limits our ability to see around to the side, or even behind ourselves. Often we fall into the trap of thinking our neck is to blame, when actually we could be helping our neck by using more of our spines. The middle spine, with its connected ribs, is often neglected in our movement picture. It's one of the areas of movement the next series of classes will address.

Here's a short movement practice based on the "Bones for Life®" teaching of my movement mentor, Ruthy Alon, who is pictured here. Sit down (it's the easier way to learn this), take five minutes and free your neck and upper back.
