Hello ,
Greetings from Spain
It's Friday the 13th.. so what could possibly go wrong?..
Last week I was in Lisbon and telling you about the Grand Adventurers that went out from that city, and the unlikely links between there and Bengal - where I will be going soon.
After the road trip to Lisbon, drove 6 hours back to our house in Southern Spain.
You can read about it here.
It's been a hot and happening week in so may ways.
Since last Friday..
That young Thai football team were dramatically rescued to great relieve and finally made out of the caves.
The English football team (pop 53m) lost to Croatia (pop 4m) and crashed out of the world cup - apparently still hero's so that's OK (I'm just saying, please calm down).
First David (smiling) Davis then the Boris Bombshell exited out of the government, after the dawning Brexit reality didn't match their dreams.
Then the Donald crashed into the UK, telling us how to run our country, and suggesting that Boris should be boss and then drinks tea with the Queen. Nice.
and to top it all..
Back-Flow incense burners arrived and launched at Ancient Wisdom!
Yes, it's true.. check it out below, if your customers need a little zen-like meditation to get over all the news recently there is nothing better than setting up a mini incense waterfall (or smoke fall) and watch that mystic incense twist and tumble.
Talking about smoke.. regular readers will know about our man in Bali; Ringo. He looks after our buying office and warehouse in Ubud, Bali. The Volcano on Bali has been springing to life and erupting on and off for several months, last week it did it again.
They closed the airport. This was a problem, because Ringo was on his way to the main port in Surabaya on Java (the next island) to supervise the stuffing of a container of stock. It's only a short flight, and Ringo usually gets the 7am flight, does the stuffing with a local team, and gets the flight home in the evening. Volcano active, airport closed, no problem. Our hero gets a minibus - 14 hours overnight, including ferry ride and long trek through rebel controlled teak forests, where illegal check points and bribes are demanded. And still made it to the port to load the container. Hero!! Well done Ringo.
Fortunately the wind changed and the airport opened, and he was able to get the evening flight back.
So next week I will be in AW HQ - so news from there.
After that its off to the east again, looking for the next big thing to keep your shops busy and buzzing.. first stop India.
Take care, enjoy the sunshine.
David
