Structure of the School Day
Next year we will be changing the structure of our school day. We will now be having 1hr lesson blocks. The school day will follow this schedule:
8:55am - Enter the classroom and mark the roll
9:00am - 11:00am Learning
11:00am - 12:00pm Lunchtime (incl 10 mins eating time)
12:00pm - 2:00pm Learning
2:00pm - 2:30pm Snacktime
2:30pm - 3:30pm Learning
This model has been highly successful in other schools. It maximises student learning time , which leads to improved student outcomes. Having an earlier lunchtime, will support our students to be able to have higher engagement in the middle learning block. This will also mean our specialist classes will run for an hour, which gives students more opportunity to engage in that specific learning.
Reports
Semester 2 student reports will become LIVE on Compass on the 15th December. You will receive a Compass notification informing you of when they are ready to be viewed. Please make sure you take the time to read your child’s report with them and celebrate all of the wonderful learning that has happened in 2023!
Yearbook
Students are busily putting together their Yearbook for 2023. This year we are creating a digital class yearbook that your child’s teacher will share with you via Compass. They are looking magnificent! Each class Yearbook will be shared on Friday 15th December.
Thank you to School Council and Parents Association
At MVPS we are very lucky to have a supportive School Council and Parent’s Association. Thank you to our School Council for assisting us with overseeing the school's operations and supporting the vision and values of our school. Your insight has been invaluable. The Parent’s Association has done a tremendous job fundraising and connecting our community. Thank you thank you thank you!
We look forward to the continuing support of both parties in 2024.

Although there aren’t many days left, we still have lots of fun things to look forward to:
- Class of 2023 Graduation - we are very excited to celebrate our Grade 6s and wish them well for their high school journey.
- Prep Open Morning - prep parents are welcome to come and visit the prep classrooms to see the great learning from this term.
- Colour Fun Run - this event will be run by our PA (thank you!) and it’ll be a huge highlight for the term. It’ll run from 1pm - 3pm.
- On Friday is our Academy Market Day and Expo - The Academy students are looking forward to showcasing their learning. The Entrepreneur Academy are hosting a Market Day; hope you can come along and buy some of the products and services the student’s have prepared.
- FINAL ASSEMBLY - This will be a great celebration of the year. We will also announce our 2024 School Leaders,

2024
In 2024, Malvern Valley Primary School will continue to be a school of excellence. We are committed to our vision of creating confident children with choices for their future and continuing to foster an environment that empowers our students to develop a growth mindset; utilising their strengths to become global empathetic citizens. We continue to focus on ensuring our students have voice and agency with their learning, are continually being challenged and encouraged to ‘think outside the box’ and to always strive to do their best.
