This year Alpine Bank is offering 2 - $500 college scholarships to those high school students who will attend college in Colorado and will participate in a collegiate cycling program. Funds will be distributed upon proof of enrollment and participation in the college's cycling program. | Scholarship applications ongoing. | Starting in 2019, Wilderness First Aid will be required for Level 2 Coaches.The 2nd Chance CPR & First Aid Scholarship was conceived by David Taylor. He is a father of three young women who participate in the Colorado League. David's company, Mountain Island Construction, has been a long-time sponsor of the Colorado League as well as Boulder High School and Nederland High School. In June 2016, David suffered a heart attack while riding at Curt Gowdy State Park. At the time, he was volunteering as a ride leader for the Stone Temple Youth Mountain Bike Camp. David was saved by a fellow ride leader who administered CPR for 15 minutes until medical care arrived on the scene. The Best of the Rockies Awards is the largest and most prestigious outdoor awards in the West conducted by Elevation Outdoors Magazine. | Annual Coach Summit – Eagle, CO May 3-5, 2019 Mark your calendar! The Annual Coach Summit will kick-off Friday afternoon, May 3rd in Eagle, Colorado. Classes will cover the nuts and bolts of working with high school student-athletes in the context of a high school mountain bike club and provide the basic knowledge and guidance for coaches. CPR, WFA Recertifications, On-the-Bike Trainings (formerly MTB 101) will be available. We are planning NEW sessions for 2019! Complete details regarding weekend schedule and registration will be announced in early March. A limited number of scholarships will be available thanks to Yeti Cycles and Team Evergreen. Register HERE. | The Bailey HUNDO/HUNDito June 15th – Registration Open! Join us Father's Day weekend for the 10th Annual Bailey HUNDO. This is an epic race with an epic cause. In 2018, the HUNDO distributed over $70,000 to nonprofit partners and community organizations in the Bailey area including the Colorado League, Trips for Kids Denver Metro, and the Colorado Mountain Biking Association. Various trail building projects near the Bailey area received $15,000. Huge props to all the FUND-racers who participate. Together you have contribute to the donated over $470,000.00 donated since 2010. | NOTE the $55 application fee for racers 18 and under will be waived.
