For whom are you praying today? How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"This is the day the Lord made, and I will rejoice! I pray you all have been having a great week. The weather here in Ohio has been spectacular! We can see small spouts of flowers starting to push through the dirt. New life – Spring has sprung."

"My Word for this week is “FIRE.” Did our “fire” go out? There are a lot of things that happen in our lives that snuff our “fire” out. Everyday life busyness, grief, discouragement, unforgiveness can all be a cause. I thought of times when I started to diet or exercise...boy, I was on “fire” but got busy or was too tired and quickly my “fire” extinguished – poof! Our “fire” can be a new job, a new book, cleaning out our cupboards – ugh…, our witness about Jesus, trying new recipes, reading our bibles and a little distraction can smother the flame. I am asking God to stir the “fire” in us all. Empower us with gifts from above. Spark our “fire” with the joy that comes from God’s presence. Fan the “fire” back into our flame. I encourage you this week to try to get your “fire” back. Shine for Jesus!"

Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master,
cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians;
be inventive in hospitality..
~ Romans 12:11-13 (MSG)

Holy Week Services

Maundy Thursday ~ Communion & Tenebrae

Thursday, April 1 from 7-8pm
What is a Tenebrae Service? The word "Tenebrae" comes from the Latin meaning "darkness." The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian service that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of that week, from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus' burial.

This increasing darkness symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus' death and of hopelessness in the world without God. The service concludes in darkness, symbolizing the death of Jesus. The worshipers then leave in silence to ponder the impact of Christ's death and await the coming Resurrection.

Due to the format of this solemn service, we will not be recording & streaming Maundy Thursday.

Happy Birthday, Keegan!

News of the Week

We ended last week with a celebration of Keegan's birthday, enjoying cake made by his Grandma Best. It is always a good day when we get to celebrate one of our folks!

This week began with beautiful, spring weather, time with our animal friends, and a newly completed puzzle. We spent more time outside, finding old items to dispose of properly. Everyone is definitely building up their muscles with this job! The beautiful weather also enticed us into nature walks all around the property.

Planting time has gotten underway in earnest this week. Our crew has been sowing seeds inside and outside. Cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes, tomatillos, and basil have all been planted inside. Peas and radishes have been planted outside. Now we wait and watch for sprouts!

Updates from Marilee in Masaka, Uganda

"We are getting lots of kids registered for school. We are going to need more sponsors, for
the children near the school are very poor. We will be the only Christian school in the area, so that will attract students too. Please share (our ministry information) with friends so we can expand our sponsorships. These will be all primary children with fees running $30.00/month."

"Toured the inside of the school. Still much work to be done. Visited woodshop where desks are being made. God is on the move! Thank you everyone for all your support!"

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
