HURRICANE MATTHEW ORIGINAL ART AVAILABLE AT THE FRENCH BAKERY

Candace Whittemore Lovely, an American Impressionist Painter known for her pleasing and peaceful views of American Life, introduces “IRISES after Vincent Van Gogh” on debris logs from Hurricane Matthew. Lovely chose Van Gogh’s illustration of turbulence because of the astonishing clues he unlocked in understanding the mysterious workings of science and motion.

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life gives you sadly fallen trees, make beautiful public art”.

This special exhibition illustrates how Candace is constantly working to turn lemons into lemonade. Making a positive statement is what Lovely does: Her rain storms transform into a parade of colorful umbrellas through magnificent tulips in the Boston Public Garden. Her Boston Marathon ethereal Angels depict the Boyleston Street victims. Her Revolutionary Flag done in black, white and pink titled,“Good and Plenty Hug” and Confederate Flag, “Good and Plenty Kiss”, in her words, “turns stones and sticks into hugs and kisses”.
