The Regular Season Is Just Around The Corner

The 2022 regular season officially starts July 1 and the first race is just 82 days away in Flagstaff! Before schools let out for the summer, many new and existing teams held team information meetings to recruit new riders. If you missed a meeting, don't worry, teams will continue to recruit riders over the summer.

Looking to join the team in your area? Check the ACA map – current listing of teams with contact information and more. Oh, and there's PLENTY of room on this map for additional teams! Let us know if you're interested in forming a mountain bike team or club in your community. We'll help you get going and support you every step of the way. New team directors needing to register a team, and independent racers, should contact Executive Director Mike Perry.

CCN Registration

Please remember that student-athletes and coaches alike must be fully registered in CCN before participating in team practices.

All coaches and parents/guardians of student-athletes active in 2021 received an email this spring with a custom link to register in the new system. If your custom link has expired, or you were unable to complete registration the first time through, you can complete registration by going to the CCN login page. New coaches and riders can register by starting from the universal registration page.

We have created step-by-step guides, complete with screenshots, to help you navigate the registration process.

For questions or additional information email us at registration@arizonacycling.org.

Plates 2022

Complete registration by August 9 and your plate will be personalized with your name.

Personalized Plates for Student-Athletes and Coaches

One of the coolest keepsakes from an ACA season is a rider's bike plate. Student-athletes who are fully registered (race registration not required) and coaches who are license Level 1 and higher by August 9 will receive a custom plate with their name printed on it. Some riders get their friends to sign the back at the end of the season, some frame and hang them, some just tuck them in a drawer, maybe onto a stack of other race plates, but these get saved because they are filled with memories by the end of the season!

Racers who are planning to submit a Category Placement Petition to upgrade/downgrade and want a customized plate must apply early (remember, number ranges correspond to specific categories). Petitions may be completed by head coaches only and must be submitted by August 2.

What happens if you complete registration or upgrade later? No worries, you can still participate this fall. You just won't have your name printed on your plate.

Giving females the experiences and opportunities to ensure they feel welcome and invited to participate in ACA activities.

It’s Time to Get #MoreGirlsOnBikes

In case you missed the announcement, we recently launched a new program. Pedal Girl, Pedal! is the Arizona Cycling Association's outreach initiative focused on recruiting and retaining female student-athletes, coaches, and volunteers.

Initiative Goals:

▪ Inspire young women to build confidence, strength of character, and feel empowered through mountain biking.
▪ Provide a fun and welcoming community of girls for all participants, regardless of experience and ability.
▪ Increase visibility of role models for female student-athletes through getting more women involved in leadership roles within the ACA.

Racing Apparel

Be sure to review the ACA's Racing Apparel Policy prior to development of your team's jerseys and shorts. One of the goals of the ACA is to establish mountain bike racing as a “legitimate” interscholastic sport. Jerseys or uniforms in traditional sports like football, basketball or baseball don’t have sponsors’ logos or company names featured. We want student-athletes to build pride in their teams by representing their schools or communities, and not be subjected to any commercialization of the sport. Please e-mail Mike Perry with questions.
