This month, I decided to dedicate our E news to tell you about some of the amazing youth that have recently been working on different ways to support HFC. We are truly grateful for their efforts and dedication and hope they will inspire you as much as they have me!

When Julia needed to find an organization to help out with as part of her Bat Mitzvah, she wanted to find a place to work with that focused on art and children; we she heard about what we do, she chose Hope For Creativity! Her Bat Mitzvah is not for months, but Julia has already begun planning and organizing art drives, collecting art supplies, and is going to be visiting soon to help us put together art packs. She is also going to be using her love for art (and amazing talent) to help HFC and is one of the artists registered for Engage. Thank you Julia! We are so glad you found us!

We recently visited the sixth graders at Swampscott Middle School and talked about the issue of children experiencing homelessness and how we help. When they decided to have a 3 day change challenge between Team Stingray and Team Sea Star; not only did they meet the challenge, they raised $583.00! The Sea Stars came out the winners of the challenge, but to me, they are all examples of amazing determination.
They have also been busily beading during their free time!! Their bracelets will be available next week in our online store.

We also spent some time this month with members of nAGLY, the North Shore Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth. They contacted us because they wanted to find a way to help; being part of our bead brigade turned out to be the perfect fit! In one 90 minute session, they beaded 990 pins that were turned into gorgeous bracelets that are now available here We hope to work with them again in the near future!

Next month we hope to have the artists page on our website up and running so you can learn more about the 65 artists we currently have registered for Engage plus more details about the event. If you want to register but haven't, there's still time! Register for Engage

Peace!
