YOGA TIP
As we lay in supported Fish Pose in our yoga class the other day, my yoga teacher told us this story:
She got stuck in traffic on the way to class the day before. There was a wild turkey in the middle of the road. It stopped, sat down, and put its head down. Drivers were enraged and honked their horns.
A cyclist dropped her bike and carefully went over to the turkey. She slowly picked up the turkey, which didn’t budge, and gently placed it on the sidewalk.
Our yoga teacher asked us to think about how we could bring this sense of “softness and strength” to our lives. It would be easy to get irate or impatient in the face of traffic. But we could instead bring softness and strength to our lives and be that cyclist who took the time to make a difference.
What positive impact can you make on the world today that offers softness and strength to the people around you? What a great lesson to teach our children!
