IN2IT TAKES BACK TO BACK TITLE

Year four of the Turbo Touch National Club Championships has been and gone with almost a duplicate contest in the Cup division as Hustle and Flow challenged IN2IT once again for the Turbo Touch National title.

With twenty teams entered over the North Island, teams participated from Hibiscus Coast, Tauranga, Te Awamutu, Wellington, North, South, East and West Auckland to play a minimum of 8 games each in what was a full day of Turbo Touch broken up with a hysterical team 'are you the fastest balloon popper' competition.

IN2IT v Hustle & Flow

CUP

This years cup decider was a replay of the 2015 Final, with Wellingtons Hustle and Flow taking on the 2015 Champs from Auckland In2It. It was a closely fought game, with Hustle and Flow up 3 -1 at half time. The endurance and explosive skills of In2it outlasted a spirited Hustle and Flow who went down by two Touchdowns in the end. Final score 6-4.

Artful Dodgers final

Artful Dodgers and Fale Ma

PLATE

Artful Dodgers from New Market took on Fale Ma, a team that gets together solely for this event and for many their first experience of Turbo Touch. Another nail biter, similar ability displayed by both teams. Fale Ma took the final with a 5 – 3 win.

Starburst Babies - Winners Bowl division 2016 Turbo Touch National Club Champs

BOWL

Starburst Babies from Wellington and The Fox from New Market, both loyal incumbents of this event. It was always going to be a close final as they drew their pool play game in the round robin. As predicted defence from both teams was outstanding with this one going down to the wire. Starburst Babies pulled through with a narrow 2 – 1 win.

TASC final

SHIELD

TA Sports from Te Awamutu made the grade final for the second consecutive year with their young but exceptionally talented team mostly new to Turbo. Playing Trusts own It’s Complicated, first timers at the TT National Club Champs, it was a close & fierce battle. In the end the youth prevailed still running strong on the 9th game, taking the title 7 – 6 over It’s Complicated.
