Encouragement

Several people have mentioned missing this weekly bit of encouragement from Darla Smith, so here it is, back again!

"I pray you all had a blessed Memorial Day weekend and took the time to remember those who gave all to defend the freedom we all enjoy today. I know I did. The weather has been beautiful, and life has been just as great. God is good – all the time! So thankful for all His blessings."

"My WORD for this week started from Sunday’s message and finished when I was mowing Sunday afternoon - “NEUTRAL.” How many times have we just felt comfortable to stay right where we are and not move forward? We are hesitant to take a step forward – we are stuck in “neutral.” The Holy Spirit does not want us to stay in “neutral” – He wants us to keep moving forward to grow in our faith – to grow in our walk – to grow in our witness and testimony. One time on the mower, I did not have it quite engaged into drive, so I was stuck in “neutral” not going anywhere so the lawn was not getting done. I could have sat there all day until the gas ran out but until I fully engaged it into drive – there would have been no production. No moving forward – no results – just stuck. I want us all to grow in Him – let our faith rise – keep showing the love of Jesus like never before. When we are full of the Holy Spirit – it will show, and our witness and testimony will shine without even having to say a word. Jesus’ love will spill out onto everyone we meet everywhere we go. Can you imagine? Let us not be like Pooh and get stuck in “neutral” – let us keep stepping forward!"

2 Peter 1:5-8 NKJV Fruitful Growth in the Faith
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our crew has harvested some of our own strawberries, cleaned up branches (and took a wagon ride), enjoyed nature, and even headed out to Dustin's grandma's house as a service project. Uncle Ron joined in on the fun there. It is always a blast to join forces on a project with a friend!

Intern Keaton is now a succesful jam maker, having made his first batch as head jam maker. Way to go, Keaton. Now he has to guard the GG jam secrets forever! Next week we welcome our first mission group. If you want to stop out on Monday and join in the work and play, we'd love to have you! Talk to Rachel for more details.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
